After Joe Manchin made the decision to not support the Build Back Better bill, shares of China's solar giants plunged.

Mark Meadows' contempt vote puts the Department of Justice in trouble. Now, the DOJ is forced to weigh the potential legal and political consequences of going against long-standing policy. Charging Meadows with contempt of Congress, would represent a departure from historical precedence.

Despite the spread of omicron, Australia which has always had the toughest precautions against the epidemic, suddenly shifted its policy. Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced that the government will stop being "heavy handed" and will let people enjoy Christmas without severe restrictions.
